So I think I liked Dazing the first Mentor. The way the game played out, it’s the only card that makes sense for him to have and he was holding it until he drew a spell to go with it. Dazing it means he can’t make a token unless Counterbalance blind flips a 2. Not Dazing means he makes a guaranteed token and if Counterbalance flips a 2, Brainstorm resolves so he also has a card in hand. The end result is the same if Counterbalance flips a 2. If it doesn’t, Dazing means you get to tick Lili up to 7, Decay the Mentor, and Lili has 3 more loyalty than she ended up with (which means you get to ult at least 1 more time that game.)
